My promise to you: Every decision based on what’s best for our children.
Well, it’s that time again. I must campaign and be re-elected so that I can continue to do the important work of improving our schools. Even before getting elected to my first term on the school committee in 2003, I served as a leader on the Citywide Parent Council for five years, volunteered in our classrooms, and advocated for better schools in our community and at the state level. With 12 years of experience as an adjunct professor at local colleges and universities, I know first-hand the skills students need to be successful and the challenges our teachers face. My passion for excellent schools continues to drive me as I serve on the Lowell School Committee, as well as community groups, and as chair of the Urban Division of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees.
During these tough fiscal times, my leadership is especially crucial. When resources are tight, our priorities must remain focused on high-quality instruction and student achievement. My advocacy at the local and state levels becomes even more critical. Difficult choices must be made, and every vote matters. Your support will keep me fighting for excellent schools.
